Mill Description
The mill is located on sloping terrain, opposite the Turkish cemetery, and is surrounded by wild vegetation and pine trees. The preserved buildings of the mill include the base and a small part of the watertower as well as remains of the aqueduct’s supporting wall of 40-60m in height and 80cm in length. The watertower’s remains are covered since its stop of function, by soil and rocks. The watertower exists in ruinous condition and only part of its front façade that faces the river is still preserved. There are no traces of the watertower’s shaft. Its masonry is constructed by calcareous stone, gravel, cobblestones and ophiolite stones -diabase and gabbro rocks carried by the river from the Troodos mountain. In 1920, the mill was the property of Hussein Mulla Ali while in 1931 it was transferred to Houdaverdi Moustafa. Since 1965, the mill has been the property of Ahmet Djemal Mulla Houdaverdi.
