Mill Description

Molos mill lies 250m down the river from the Shaban Bey mill and was lavishly restored in 2000 as the centrepiece of a small community park. A water channel runs along the road and over a single pointed arch to enter the penstock, which has two tiers and dressed ashlar quoins on all four corners. The cylindrical shaft has a high balustrade around its opening on top of the penstock. The millhouse has been substantially restored: the milling room is above, with its millstones, and there is an arched outflow immediately below from which the water emerges from the turbine room and runs into the Karkotis River. On a block on the north wall of the penstock is a complex inscription with a cross, cryptograms and the date 1690. S. Floridou and I. Evans TAESP Volume 1: 269–273, 275–276
